New Campground and New Computer

On Sunday we put Quartzsite Arizona in our rear view mirror, and headed east toward Phoenix.  Here are some pics we took the last night we were in Q.  This pic was taken from the roof of our RV looking at Silly Al's, an Italian restaurant, and bar.  We went there a few times when we were in Q, and this is where Ann sang karaoke.

These last three pics are of sunset on Saturday night.

We arrived at White Tank Mountain State Park which is North West of the Phoenix Metro up in some foothills.

We arrived about 5:00PM, set up rather quickly, and then headed to Peoria to find the Fry's Electronics, so I could get a new laptop.  Every since we have been in Arizona my old Compaq 2135 has been having problems; first it was the battery not staying charged, which necessitated a new power supply, then even the new power supply would not charge the battery,  so I ended up running the computer directly off the power supply.  Then a few days ago it started running erractically.  It would do nothing for a minute or two, then work normally for a minute or two, so I finally bit the bullet and got a new Fujitsu LifeBook AH550 Notebook.  So far things are going well with it; I have got my home email working, but need to transfer files from my old Compac.  We have an adapter that we purchased when the hard drive on Ann's computer died a few months ago to transfer the files, so hopefully it will be an easy job.

It is really nice here, the desert is green after all the rain of a week or so ago, and I expect some of the cacti will be blooming soon.

I got up early this morning, got on top of the motorhome and took some pictures of the sun rising over the valley.

About noon today we went for a walk and took a few pics of the flora and fauna.

The one on the right is how a saguarro is supposed to look.  The one on the left evidently had a rougher life.

Ann said that the little cacti growing close to the ground look like tribbles.

Not sure what kind of cactus this is,  but it looked picture worthy.

Now the sun has gone down on another beautiful Arizona winter day.

More later.
